CITY OF WHEATON: Temporary Road Closure for Hale Street

Roadclosed

City of Wheaton issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.

Due to underground utility work taking place in downtown Wheaton, parking will be closed on Hale Street from Front to Wesley Street starting Thursday, Oct. 4, as crews begin work on replacing century-old sanitary service lines and water main.

Hale Street will be temporarily closed to both parking and traffic starting Tuesday, Oct. 9 from dawn until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weather permitting, the work is expected to take two weeks to complete. Detour signs will be in place during the day.

Hale Street will be re-opened every evening to through traffic. Pedestrian access to all businesses will remain open throughout the project and customer parking will be made available on all floors of the Wheaton Place Garage (232 W Wesley Street) and Lot # 2 (south side of Wesley between Main & Hale).

Starting Tuesday, Oct. 9, a temporary drop-off/loading parking space will be designated for customers at the southeast corner of Wesley and Hale Street. For all parking options in downtown Wheaton, please visit www.wheaton.il.us/parking.
