Villa Park State House candidate Deborah Conroy received another $41,169 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Aug. 15 and Sept. 6, state filings show.
The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends of Deborah Conroy, the campaign committee that supports Conroy’s race against Republican Jay Kinzler in the 46th district.
The district covers all or part of Elmhurst, Oakbrook Terrace, Wheaton, Addison, Bloomingdale, Milton, York, Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, Lombard, and Villa Park.
Madigan’s contributions to Conroy came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $1,396,270 to the candidate’s campaign.
From Aug. 15 to Sept. 6, Madigan spent $2.67 million backing campaigns for 31 candidates. He's spent more than $100,000 on 12 candidates and more than $40,000 on 18.
