The district transferred five students to another program instead of suspending or expelling them.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 525 students during the year. That equates to 3.2 percent of the 16,625 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for one incident with drugs.
Of the 419 in-school suspensions, 322 were given to boys and 97 were given to girls, including 125 elementary or middle schoolers and 294 high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 404 incidents. There were nine incidents of drugs. For 404 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 105 out-of-school suspensions, 84 were given to boys and 21 were given to girls, including 35 elementary or middle schoolers and 70 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 88 incidents. There were 11 incidents of drugs. For 72 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
