Illinois Rep. David Olsen (R-Downers Grove) doesn’t believe the state’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate when he claims his proposed tax hikes will only be levied against billionaires.
"I think that the critical point is that this math doesn't work unless there is a tax increase on the middle class, and so J.B. Pritzker's plan — oh, we're just going to focus on the billionaires, that he's going to pay more," Olsen said during a recent press conference with other Republican lawmakers. "It sounds nice, except that means a tax increase on every working family in Illinois, and that is really something that we cannot afford."
Olsen has represented the 81st House District since his appointment to the seat in July 2016. He ran unopposed for in the March Republican Primary and now faces Democrat Anne Stava-Murray in the November general election
