Village of Itasca issued the following announcement on Aug. 16.
Join us for the 10th annual running of the Itasca Runners Club's Oktoberfast 5K run and walk September 8, 9am.
Go From The Fast to The Fest:
The date for the race has been set to coincide with the annual Oktoberfest celebrations in Downtown Itasca.
The chip-timed race follows a fast and scenic neighborhood route through Itasca, Illinois, with a downhill finish into Usher Park.
The Itasca Oktoberfast 5K has been awarded a place on the CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association) Runners' Choice Circuit for 2018.
This race is CARA Certified and has committed to following the CARA Best Practices Guidelines, a high set of standards for quality, safe and operationally sound race.
Proceeds from the Itasca OktoberFast 5K benefits local organizations that are dedicated to providing support to families and individuals in need by providing food, emergency assistance, mentoring, or financial assistance to promote healthy, active, and productive lifestyles.
