Naperville Park District issued the following announcement on Aug. 7.
Rx for Nature is a new, free event for the community focusing on healthy outdoor activities. Those attending the event will be able to learn more from area vendors about activities including camping, dog walking, electric biking, hiking and kayaking.
Fort Hill Fitness instructors and others will offer free mini-sessions of yoga, Zumba, meditation and Shinrin-yoku.
A children’s area will feature crafts, face painting, a bean bag toss game, practice with fish casting, and an obstacle course. Local conservation organizations also will share ways that people can help the environment while enjoying healthy activities in nature. Food trucks are planning to be on site with treats for purchase.
Naperville residents and visitors are invited; hosted by Naperville Park District in partnership with local sponsors, vendors and other community organizations. Sponsors of this event include Dog Patch Pet & Feed, Naperville Kayak and Erehwon Mountain Outfitters.
The Festival will be held at Knoch Knolls Nature Center and Knoch Knolls Park, located at 320 Knoch Knolls Road in Naperville.
The event takes place from 12:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12.
