City of Wheaton issued the following announcement on June 29.

Butterfield Road and Roosevelt Road in Wheaton will both see road improvements this summer. Here are the details for each project:

Butterfield Road

Copenhaver Construction will begin mobilizing for the Route 56 Headwall Project on Monday, July 2. The Route 56 Headwall Project involves work on the concrete wall/drainage structure for the stream that runs north/south underneath Butterfield Road. The project will entail single-lane closures in one of the westbound lanes of Butterfield Road between Leask Lane and East Loop Road. The project is anticipated to take six weeks to complete.

Roosevelt Road

The Illinois Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing Roosevelt Road from Nicoll Way in Glen Ellyn to just west of Pierce Avenue in Wheaton. The project will begin in Glen Ellyn and will work west into Wheaton. The scope of this project includes replacing sidewalks at all intersections for ADA compliance, clearing some trees along various locations, and resurfacing the roadway.

R.W. Dunteman is the general contractor performing this work, which is anticipated to be complete by late fall.
