Clarendon Hills FD responds to 14 fires in 2017

Clarendon Hills Fire Department responded to 155 calls in 2017 - 5.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Clarendon Hills included 14 fires - seven structure fires and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $25,275 in fire loss - or about $1,805 per fire.

The department also received 141 false calls.

The Clarendon Hills Firefighters Pension Fund, which has one active employee and retired or inactive employee, was $1,020 in debt as of December 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $85 for every fire in 2016.
