Wheaton Academy senior Kayla Lotz was one of six students to receive the Sixth Congressional District Excellence Award from U.S. Rep Peter Roskam (R-IL), which recognizes student academic achievement and leadership.
Roskam presented the awards on May 24 at his office in West Chicago. High schools in the district nominate a graduating student whose involvement at school and in the community sets them apart.
“Evenings like this make me optimistic about our future and I’m encouraged by the commitment these seniors have portrayed towards their educational pursuits and service to their communities,” Roskam said in a news release. “I’m looking forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on our future and look forward to watching them build off of their already promising accomplishments.”
