Warrenville Police Department issued the following announcement on May 18.
Beginning Monday, May 21, a sidewalk replacement construction project will begin for the main entrance into the Police Department. The project is expected to take approximately two to three weeks to complete. During the first phase, a temporary walkway will be in place to allow access to the Police Department front lobby.
Throughout this project, handicapped individuals will be directed to the rear (east side) of the Police Department building, near the gated parking lot entrance (Honorary Sipla Drive). Once there, persons should call the police non-emergency number (630-393-2131) from their mobile phone. When calling, those persons will need to let the call taker know they are at the back of the building and their reason for needing access to it. In return, the call taker will advise them when they may expect someone to assist them.
A second phase of the construction project will create diagonal parking spaces on Warren Avenue in front of the Police Department and will improve the road surface in front of the Park District building. During this phase of the project, the Police Department will remain accessible; however parking will be significantly reduced, so please be patient.
While this construction will cause a temporary inconvenience, the outcome should be a great benefit to those entering the Police Department, and those accessing parking on Warren Avenue between Tracy Place and Manning Avenue. Your patience during this project is appreciated.
