Report: Darien spent $10,834 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Darien School District 61 is up 19 percent from five years ago, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Dupage County school district spent $9,119 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,834 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1619 to 1517.

Darien's spending in 2016-17 was 16 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
