Report: Winfield spent $17,687 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Winfield School District 34 is up 14 percent from five years ago, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Dupage County school district spent $15,572 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,687 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 350 to 306.

Winfield's spending in 2016-17 was 36 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
