Report: West Chicago spent $12,057 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at West Chicago Elementary School District 33 is down 5 percent from five years ago, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Dupage County school district spent $12,630 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,057 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 4131 to 4530.

West Chicago's spending in 2016-17 was 7 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
