Analysis: Lombard pays $3.48 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lombard Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.8 percent of the $2,721,768 the Lombard Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.48 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Lombard contributed $2,034,905 to the fund, which saw a $321,653 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $583,560, or 21.4 percent, in 2016. Another $103,303 came from other unspecified sources.
