Analysis: Hinsdale pays $4.55 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Hinsdale Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82 percent of the $1,095,430 the Hinsdale Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.55 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Hinsdale contributed $898,144 to the fund, which saw a $118,453 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $197,170, or 18 percent, in 2016. Another $116 came from other unspecified sources.
