Analysis: Elmhurst pays $4.98 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Elmhurst Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.3 percent of the $2,236,939 the Elmhurst Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.98 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Elmhurst contributed $1,863,426 to the fund, which saw a $117,864 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $373,513, or 16.7 percent, in 2016.
