Campaign spending: Ortiz raised $187K ahead of primary victory

Incumbent Rep. Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) raised $505 per vote cast for him in the 82nd House District Republican primary race last week compared to challenger Mickey Straub's $547 per vote, according to the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform.

In all, the contentious primary raised $3.9 million.

The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform analyzed how much candidates in the most contested state races raised per vote they received in the Illinois Primary on March 20. The analysis is based on contributions disclosures between Jan. 1, 2017, and March 20.
