DuPage GOP urging fast action on candidate petitions

The DuPage GOP is reminding voters that candidate petitions must be signed, notarized and turned in soon.

"We hope to deliver signatures to the candidates by the end of this month," the group said in a press release.

Downloadable petitions are available for statewide, congressional, countywide and legislative candidates.


Rep. Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs)

Countywide candidates include Dan Cronin, county board chairman; Joe Cantore, forest-preserve president; Darlene Ruscitti, regional superintendent; Karen Wilson, circuit-court judge; Gwen Henry, county treasurer; Paul Hinds, county clerk; and James Mendrick and Frank Bibbiano, sheriff.

Candidates for the Senate are incumbents Michael Connelly of District 21, Chris Nybo of District 24 and John Curran of District 41.

Candidates for the House include incumbents Jim Durkin of District 81, David Olsen of District 81, Peter Breen of District 48, Jeanne Ives of District 42, Grant Wehrli of District 41, and Christine Winger of District 45. Non-incumbent candidates are Jay Kinzler in District 46, Deanne Mazzochi in District 47, Tonia Khouri in District 49 and Nic Zito in District 49.

County board candidates are incumbents Sam Tornatore of District 1, Pete DiCianni of District 2, Gary Grasso and Greg Hart of District 3, Grant Eckhoff and Amy Grant of District 4, Janice Anderson of District 5, and Kevin Wiley and James Zay of District 6. Non-incumbent candidates are Steve Nero of District 2, Martin Tully of District 3 and Beth Tatro and Paula McGowen of District 4.
