Clarendon Hills FD responds to 12 fires in 2016

Clarendon Hills Fire Department responded to 164 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The calls in Clarendon Hills included 12 fires - seven structure fires, one vehicle fire and four other fires.

In all, the department saw $814,850 in fire loss - or about $67,904 per fire.

The department also received 152 false calls, including one malicious call and 151 other false calls.

One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.

The Clarendon Hills Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has one active employee and retired or inactive employee, was $35,937 positive as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $2,995 for every fire in 2016.
