Rep. David Olsen (R-Downers Grove) is joining Rep. Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) and Senate Minority Leader Christine Radongo (R-Lemont) to present the 2017 Health & Safety Expo, a free event in Downers Grove on Saturday.
"I am pleased to be partnering with leaders Radogno and Durkin on this family-friendly event,” Olsen said in a press release. “Children and parents will be able to enjoy a variety of hands-on activities while they learn about important topics such as cyber bullying, proper nutrition and bike and personal safety.”
According to an event flier, the expo will fun from 9 a.m. to noon at Lakeview Junior High School, with interactive safety demonstrations, the Darien Police K-9 Unit and the Traveling World of Reptiles Show. More than 20 Touch a Truck exhibits will give children a close-up look at various utility vehicles. Free refreshments and giveaways will also be available.
“Promoting children’s health and safety remains a top priority for me,” Radogno said in a press release. “This year’s Safety Expo offers children and parents a great opportunity to learn about issues such as cyber bullying, nutrition, bicycle safety, college saving programs, as well engage in fun interactive activities!”
