The campaign committee Citizens to Elect John S Whitey Peters owes a $2,750 fine imposed on March 1, 2016, according to Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE).

A detailed look reveals the committee owes additional outstanding fines totaling $2,975.

ISBE Records dating back to 2003 show 172 area campaign committees owe a combined total of $995,091 in pending fines.
