Wood Dale City Council approves publication of 2017 zoning map

Wood Dale City Council met Thursday, March 2.

MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF WOOD DALE, DU PAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS IN THE CITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, MARCH 2, 2017:

I. CALL TO ORDER:

Mayor Nunzio Pulice called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

II. ROLL CALL:

Upon roll call the following were:

Present: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley, R. Wesley and Woods along with Mayor Pulice

Absent: None

Also Present: Legal Counsel Bond, City Manager Mermuys, City Clerk Siebert and Treasurer Porch

Whereupon the Mayor declared a quorum present.

III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: City Council Meeting – February 16, 2017

On a motion by Alderman E. Wesley, seconded by Alderman Jakab, to approve the Regular City Council Meeting Minutes of February 16, 2017 as presented. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results:

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley, R. Wesley and Woods

Nays: None

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

V. COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS:

A. Citizens to Be Heard on Matters Not Listed On Agenda

No Citizen wished to be heard.

B. Written Communiqués

Mayor Pulice received a flyer announcing that Holy Ghost Parish is hosting their First Annual Spring Car Show Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 260 N. Wood Dale Rd. from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. There will be food, drinks, music and kid’s activities, the show will go on Rain or Shine. Exhibitor check-in between 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

VI. MAYOR’S REPORT:

Mayor Pulice announced on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Boy Scout Troop 65 will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast at Holy Ghost School. The cost is Adults $8.00, Seniors/Children over 4 years $6.00. Children under 4 years are free.

VII. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT:

City Manager Mermuys stated IDOT will be out within the next month or so making sure the new traffic signals just installed at the Intersections of Irving Park Road and Wood Dale Road are working. However, both turn legs still need work on the sequencing.

VIII. CONSENT AGENDA:

A. Omnibus Vote:

The Mayor questioned if there were any objections to the Consent Agenda, hearing none and on a motion by Alderman Jakab, seconded by Alderman Sorrentino to approve Items 1-3 in the Consent Agenda. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results:

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, E. Wesley, R. Wesley and Woods

Nays: Alderman Susmarski

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion passed approving the following:

1. A RESOLUTION SEEKING TO APPROVE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF WOOD DALE AND K-FIVE CONSTRUCTION FOR THE WARD 2 PHASE IV PROJECT IN THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $874,082.82. (R-17-07)

2. A RESOLUTION SEEKING TO APPROVE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF WOOD DALE AND RW DUNTEMAN FOR THE FY 2018 CIP STREETS RESURFACING PROJECT IN THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $294,895.00. (R-17-08)

3. A RESOLUTION SEEKING TO APPROVE A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF WOOD DALE AND RW DUNTEMAN FOR THE POTTER STREET BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT IN THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $307,761.40 (R-17-09)

IX. COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN REPORTS

A. PLANNING, ZONING & BUILDING COMMITTEE:

1. On a motion by Alderman Catalano, seconded by Alderman Susmarski to adopt Ordinance No. O-17-005, being “AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND CAUSING PUBLICATION OF THE OFFICIAL 2017 ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF WOOD DALE, ILLINOIS”. When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results:

Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley, R. Wesley and Woods

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

Alderman Jakab reported residents will be receiving in the mail a postcard in the mail regarding O’Hare Noise Complaint Week, March 15, 2017 – March 22, 2017. Further details will be explained in the postcard.

XI. APPROVAL OF LIST OF BILLS – March 2, 2017 - $288,495.64

On a motion by Alderman Jakab, seconded by Alderman Catalano to approve the March 2, 2017 payment of the List of Bills, as presented, in the amount of $288,495.64 for the following:

On a motion by Alderman Woods, seconded by Alderman Sorrentino, to adjourn the Regular Meeting of March 2, 2017 to Executive Session to discuss the review of the Executive Session Official Minutes (Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21) and Pending Litigation (Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5). When the question was put, a roll call vote was taken with the following results: Ayes: Aldermen Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley, R. Wesley and Woods
