Woodridge ranked 431th in state in lottery ticket sales for June 2016

The Village of Woodridge had the 431th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of June 2016 -- down 14 spots from its May ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Woodridge was $18.65 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Dupage Policy Journal, Woodridge generated $622,448.50 in net sales from its 19 lottery retailers in June 2016, compared to $625,825 in June 2015.

The Village of Woodridge is in DuPage County, and has a population of 33,370, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Darien, Downers Grove, Lisle, Naperville, Lemont, Romeoville and Bolingbrook.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in June 2016 was $29,177.48.

Woodridge's top lottery retailer is Grocers Pantry located at 7058 Woodward Ave, Woodridge, IL 60517.

Grocers Pantry generated 20 percent of Woodridge's June 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of DuPage County's sales that month, which was $18,060,865.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in DuPage County in 2015 were Bensenville, Wood Dale, Itasca, Villa Park and Addison.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
