The unofficial results for the Winfield Township Republican primary have been released.
Incumbent Supervisor Dona Smith won the Republican primary. She took the supervisor candidate position for the April 4 ballot with 701 votes. Her challengers, Dave Tornga, Robert Greer and Bonnie Hollingsworth garnered 565, 487 and 95 votes, respectively.
Nicole Prater is moving forward as the Republican candidate for township clerk. She received 1,016 votes over incumbent Clifford Brown's 732 votes.
Of the six candidates running for township trustee, four are moving forward to the April 4 election. Donald Voelz, Michael Guglielmi, Barbara Bernacki Alekna and Zachary Halley received 1,043, 1,022, 976 and 959 votes, respectively. Contenders Mary Ann Manna received 883 and Gerald Ruzicka garnered 764 votes.
The candidates for the township assessor and highway commissioner positions ran unopposed in the primary. Mark Malay received 1,429 votes for assessor and John Dusza received 1,531 votes for highway commissioner.
All of the victorious Republican candidates will move forward to the April 4 election, where they are running unopposed. No Democratic candidates are seeking office in the township.
