St. Charles prepares for Restaurant Week small business celebration

Over three dozen local eateries participating in St. Charles’ upcoming Restaurant Week will honor special discount coupons Feb. 27 to March 3, city officials recently announced, letting guests support local businesses while enjoying their meals.

The food fest spotlights a variety of establishments that will give patrons 20 percent markdowns on their orders. City representatives listed five ways to obtain the coupons, along with rules for accompanying contests and prizes, on St. Charles’ government website.

Mailed postcards and clipped local newspaper ads will serve as proof of discount, the city said; consumers can obtain coupons online and via social media, as well. Coupons can be downloaded to mobile devices and simply displayed at time of service in any of the participating eateries.

Area residents and visitors can find their printable coupons along with a list of participating restaurants online. Consumers should note that only one bill per party can be redeemed; minimum purchase is $20; the discount excludes tax, tip and alcoholic beverages; and the deal applies specifically to dine-in meals as opposed to carry-out.

The city invites participants to share photos of their events. By tagging the city, the restaurant and the promotional event on Instagram, all diners are eligible to win a $25 St. Charles Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificate.

“St. Charles offers one of Chicagoland’s best dining scenes,” city spokespersons stated via the website. “Good luck and happy snapping!”
