Promoting her entire team’s platform to lower taxes in Naperville, incumbent Republican Supervisor Rachel Ossyra recently reiterated her views on Facebook to guide voters while casting her bid for re-election during Feb. 28’s primary.

Late last month, Ossyra and her board — trustees Kerry Malm, Catherine Hanzelin, Daniel Porter and Kurt Dorr — even hosted an official Naperville Township Team for Lower Taxes reception at the Hopvine Brewing Company in Aurora.

“It was such an enjoyable evening,” she commented afterwards via Facebook. “We appreciate your encouragement for our agenda to modernize local government service delivery and reduce property taxes.”

For the current election cycle, Ossyra has conveyed her commitment to continue the work she began when first elected in 2013: to achieve “collaborative consolidation and streamlining” in compliance with a road district referendum issue; continue development of transparency in local government; foster local partnerships, particularly with social service providers; and aim for sustainable tax reductions.

The road issue concerns a binding referendum question slated for the April 4 election regarding a proposed merging of road districts, with the city of Naperville proposing that it take over providing services for approximately 16 miles of roads in unincorporated areas.

The supervisor voiced her desire to maintain clear communication via the recent post, noting that she and her board “will make protecting your tax dollar their top priority.”
