Incumbent Winfield Township supervisor and Republican candidate Dona Smith recently gained the endorsement of a DuPage County health official and additionally carried her campaign over to her own Facebook page, citing character and solid practice.

“Dona Smith has integrity, honesty and experience,” the candidate stated in a recent post. “She works hard for, listens to and fights for the residents of Winfield Township."

Smith gained an endorsement of her candidacy from Linda Kurzawa, a former District 6 county board member who currently serves as president of DuPage County’s board of health.

“Dona is a consummate professional, who has run a very proactive and efficient office,” Kurzawa stated.

Citing Smith’s focus on fulfilling the needs of senior citizens and individuals with disabilities, she also commended the candidate for her award-winning work maintaining transparency on the jurisdiction’s website.

As former president of the DuPage County Township Supervisor’s Association, Kurzawa said, Smith attracted attention for her legislative expertise.

Smith also worked with the DuPage Health Coalition; Kurzawa attributed the county’s status as Illinois’ healthiest — as ranked by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation — to her efforts. Additionally, she participates on the county’s mosquito task force.

Kurzawa urged voters to cast their ballots for Smith on Feb. 28, encouraging them to choose a candidate with proven experience.
