Woodridge Board of Trustees introduces new employees

The Woodridge Board of Trustees met Nov. 3 to introduce new employees.

Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the board:

The Woodridge board of trustees consists of a mayor and six trustees who are elected at-large for overlapping terms of four years. As the policymaking body of the village, the board approves ordinances and adopts resolutions. The village clerk, also elected for a four-year term, keeps all official records and maintains minutes of all board meetings.

Visitors are most welcome to all meetings of the Village Board. Anyone wishing to provide comment on a topic or an agenda item may address the Village Board during the “COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC” segment. It is requested that, if possible, one spokesman for a group be appointed to present the views of the entire group. Speakers who are recognized are requested to step to the podium and state their name, address and the group they are representing to addressing the Village Board. A. Motion to Concur in Appointment of Chief of Police

Brian Cunningham has had a 30-year law enforcement career, most recently serving as Deputy Chief of Investigations with the Naperville Police Department. This item will install Brian Cunningham as Woodridge's new Police Chief.

B. Introduction of New Superintendent of Operations: Ben Santore, Public Works

The Village has an Employee Recognition Program. Each quarter an employee receives recognition by his/her employee peers. Foreman, Dave Zalud, who works in the Public Works Department, has been selected as Employee of the Quarter for this 4th Quarter of 2016.

VII. OMNIBUS AGENDA

All items on the omnibus vote agenda are considered routine by the Village Board and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Board member so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda.

A. ORD-2016-37 An Ordinance Granting a Major Amendment to the Special Use and Site Plan for a Golf Course, Driving Range and Pro-Shop Use – Seventy Fifth Street Investments – 1535 75Th Street

This Ordinance will authorize a major amendment to the special use and site plan for the Zigfield Troy Golf Course to replace the existing ground sign with a new ground sign that incorporates an electronic message board sign component with associated relief.

B. Motion to Approve a Waiver of Zoning and Building Permit Fees – Minor Site Plan for ARC - Woodridge Park District

This is a waiver of the $250 application fee for a project proposed by the Woodridge Park District.

C. Bid 2016-08 Underground Storage Tank Removal - 1 Plaza Drive

This motion will award Woodridge Bid 2016-08 for the removal of the underground storage tank to R.W. Collins Company of Chicago, Illinois in the amount of $28,200.

D. ORD-2016-38 An Ordinance Granting a Minor Site Plan Amendment – Athletic Recreation Center – 8201 Janes Avenue – Woodridge Park District

The Woodridge Park District is seeking a minor site plan amendment to relocate the playground to the north of the ARC facility located at 8201 Janes Avenue.

A. ORD-2016-39 An Ordinance Authorizing the Mayor and Village Clerk to Execute

a Certain TIF Development Agreement Between the Village of Woodridge and Arbuda Real Estate Group, LLC

This Ordinance approves a TIF Development Agreement with Arbuda Real Estate Group outlining the parameters for grant funding through the Janes Avenue TIF Residential Grant Program.

B. Determination of the 2016 Proposed Property Tax Levy in Compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act - Village Levy

The proposed 2016 Property Tax Levy for the Village of Woodridge is $3,181,541. This represents no increase in the levy from last year. This represents about $238 in property taxes to a home with a market value of $250,000.

C. Determination of Proposed 2016 Property Tax Levy in Compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act - Special Service Area Number One

The purpose of the tax levy for Special Service Area Number One is to build up a reserve to finance expenses related to repairs and maintenance of storm water improvements which are paid for by and benefit the Seven Bridges area. The proposed levy for 2016 is $32,950.

D. Determination of Proposed 2016 Property Tax Levy in Compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act - Special Service Area Number Three

The tax levy for Special Service Area Number Three finances the operation of storm water improvements that are paid for by and benefit the Richfield Place area. The proposed 2016 levy is $6,635.

E. Determination of Proposed 2016 Property Tax Levy in Compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act - Library Levy

The 2015 Property Tax Levy for the Woodridge Public Library is $3,605,427.

This includes a 0.7% increase to the amount levied for their operating budget, and represents an increase of $25,063 from the current year, about $2 more in taxes for the average homeowner.
