To help students anticipating transition needs after high school, District 88 will hold its 2016 Options Fair 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Park and River Forest High School, 201 Scoville Ave. in Oak Park.

Willowbrook High School in Villa Park and Addison Trail High School in Addison will both participate in the event, intended to focus specifically on resources and services geared for those students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 plan.

Over 30 institutions of higher learning and many regional agencies will send representatives to the event to answer questions and provide general information.

Five presentations are scheduled during the evening on these topics: covering tools for successful transition, advocating for mental health needs while in college, college search methods for students with learning differences, programs for student success (sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater) and mobile applications for education.

Those who need transportation can pick up permission slips at Willowbrook’s student services office or Addison’s guidance department, as a bus will be provided for District 88 families. Bus pickup time will be 5:15 p.m. at Addison Trail and 5:45 p.m. at Willowbrook.
