Glenbard North rides returning talent to strong soccer start

Soccer

With two players back who earned All-DuPage Valley Conference honors in 2015, the Glenbard North boys' soccer team jumped out to a 3-1 start this season.

That start included finishing second at the recent Addison Trail Joe Novy Invitational, Head Coach Gregg Koeller said.

The Panthers are led by senior midfielder and co-captain Danny Koeller, an All-DVC selection last year after notching five goals and eight assists.

Senior midfielder Livre Emena, who received All-DVC honorable mention, had nine goals and three assists

This year's other captains are seniors Jacob Scheufler (four goals, eight assists) and Mike Botchev (three goals, three assists)

Glenbard North went 14-4-1 last season, including a 5-3 mark in the DVC and winning the Addison Trail Regional.

BARTLETT

The Hawks came into the season looking to build off the success of 2015.

Bartlett went 17-9-2, won the Upstate Eight Conference championship, and made it to the state semifinals, Head Coach Vincenzo Di Nuzzo said.

Top veterans include senior Jacob White (three assists last season), and sophomores Rudy Reyes (three assists) and Kevin Nava.
