Mike Strick, Republican candidate for District 84 – Aurora in the Illinois House of Representatives, squarely addressed his top platform issues via social media by posting comments to his Facebook page recently.

“We have all seen the impact of out-of-touch Springfield legislation on families and job opportunities,” Strick stated. “Let’s stop the tax and spend cycle. It will start with your vote!”

Whether caring for his family, developing his businesses, coaching, mentoring youth or confronting Illinois’ government inefficiencies, Strick has pledged a strong commitment to overcoming the status quo and building a vibrant future for residents and businesses.

“Illinois' hardworking families and small businesses are struggling with the reckless government spending and ever-growing taxes,” Strick said via campaign material, adding that “We need leadership that can relate to everyone's frustration and is committed to financial responsibility so each of us can once again dream and achieve a brighter future.”

Stick has promised to work to cut wasteful spending, increase efficiency in government, face the pension crisis, and lower taxes. "It's time for responsibility to prevail," he said.

Additionally, the candidate pledged to mandate a property tax freeze, ensure that local taxes go directly to local schools, establish term limits, and make Illinois business friendly.
