The Hill Avenue Bridge over the East Branch of the DuPage River in Western Lombard, near Glen Ellyn, will be closed to all traffic for six months due to reconstruction, beginning the week of July 18.
As a result of this change of service, a signed detour route utilizing Crescent Boulevard will be established for the duration of the project. In advance of the bridge closing, temporary message boards have been posted on Hill Avenue on both the Glen Ellyn and Lombard sides of Hill Avenue. It is projected that the bridge will reopen in December.
Motorists that use Hill Avenue are encouraged to sign up for the Village of Lombard’s “Notify Me”
service at villageoflombard.org/notifyme to receive updates regarding construction in their
area.
