The DuPage County, Illinois Local Emergency Planning Committee met earlier this week in a special meeting to discuss a hazardous materials emergency preparedness grant.
The committee also reviewed bylaws and officer selection.
The mission of the committee is to oversee "the protection of the community and the environment from hazardous material incidents through planning, preparation, and communication between residents, business, and government."
