The Village Board of Elk Grove, Illinois recently held a meeting to review fee waivers and a concert budget.

The goal of the meeting was to discuss a request that came from the Elk Grove Park District. The request is to waive the 2016 Alarm License Fees, which amount to $175. Previously, the Village Board has allowed these waivers to be granted specifically for non-profit organizations and governmental agencies.

The Director of Finance recommended that the board approve the request.

In addition, Elk Grove Park District requested the board consider waiving the Liquor License fees pertaining to Garden Terrace Banquets and Fox Run Golf Links. These fees amount to $5,800. The fees are part of the Class A Liquor License, which costs $2,900.

The board also reviewed a professional services contract with Entertainment Management Group to manage as well as operate a concert, which will be part of the yearly Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. The group is not to surpass its $20,000 budget for the concert.

The Entertainment Management Group has been responsible for the annual MidSummer Classics Concert Series in the village for the last eight years. This is the ninth consecutive year for the 2016 concert series. It is also the second time that Elk Grove has hosted a concert with its annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.
