The DuPage County, Illinois Health Department released its annual county report on the efficiency of the Narcan Program (DNP) last week.
The current report, which releases statistics, data and indicators for 2015, includes a general overview, highlights from the program’s timeline, information on the various participating agencies, as well as statistics measuring the rate of saves and deaths during the year.
The DNP, designed specifically to fight the growing incidence of death related to the use of heroin, was developed in 2014. Along with responders from many other agencies across the region, members of the Warrenville Police have been trained to administer the opiate reversal drug. Warrenville officers have been credited with the saving of two lives in the last several months, one in October 2015 and another during January of this year.
