Elmhurst sewer system upgrade begins Monday

Elmhurst

Contractors are scheduled to begin the improvement project to Elmhurst’s sanitary lift station on Monday, March 28.

The project includes the installation of a new 24-inch gravity sewage system on Jackson Street, westward between the lift station and Washington Street. The improvement project is critical to the overall completion of the Southwest Wet Weather Control Facility, which offers sanitary sewer backup relief for over 2,300 Elmhurst residents.

Road closures will take place at various times in areas of Jackson Street, from Saylor Avenue to Washington Street. Weekly updates will be provided regarding which roads will be blocked on which days. When roads are closed, detour routes will be posted. For additional information, contact Chris Dufort, superintendent of Water/Wastewater Distribution and Collection, at 630-530-3036 or chris.dufort@elmhurst.org.
