The Kane County Division of Transportation will begin removing and replacing the traffic signals on Randall Road at the intersections of Bricher Road, Prairie Street and Oak Street Wednesday.
In order to minimize the interruption of traffic, some side streets will be closed to thru traffic between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on scheduled days.
Traffic traveling on Randall Road will be permitted to flow through the aforementioned intersections without stopping but will not be allowed to turn off of Randall Road during work hours.
Motorists are advised to use Illinois Highways 38 and 64 as alternate routes within the affected areas. For access to retail areas along Randall Road, motorists can utilize Peck Road.
In order to minimize traffic concerns, work will take place at only one intersection at a time. The expected road closure dates are as follows: Randall Road and Bricher Road, Wednesday; Randall Road and Prairie Street, Monday; Randall Road and Oak Street, March 24.
Please watch for flaggers and construction workers on these dates.
On a road closure date, drivers should expect barricades, cones and traffic control preventing access to the side streets, placement of new wiring and equipment on the mast arms, adjustment and connection of the wiring in the traffic controller cabinet, testing of the new equipment, removal of old mast arms and equipment.
