The Elmhurst Public Affairs and Safety Committee discussed the security plans for a number of events this year at the Elmhurst City Centre Monday.
The list of activities includes art displays, the Easter festival, Girls' Getaway, the School’s Out Event, First Friday festivals, summer block parties and festivals for Halloween and Christmas. The committee reviewed the nuances and the safety and security requirements of each event.
The agenda also included a discussion on the planned improvements to the Metra Station and the development of an RFQ for architectural and engineering services for the project.
Among a few other items of business and public comment, the committee reviewed a list of recommendations for the disbursement of community grant dollars.
