Elmhurst planning, zoning commission to meet tonight

Elmhurst

The placement of communication towers and antennas will top the agenda of the Elmhurst Development Planning and Zoning Commission meeting at 7 p.m. today at Elmhurst City Hall.

The towers and antennas will serve Elmhurst residents and businesses. A resolution has been drafted that would amend the Elmhurst Zoning Ordinances, creating a new section covering mobile phone tower requirements.

Also on the agenda is the initial review of a feasibility study regarding the proposed construction of a multi-purpose indoor sports facility in the city.

Conventions, Sports and Leisure, Inc. (CSL) in Chicago, has been awarded the contract for the study on the sports facility. The commission will introduce CSL at the meeting, and discuss the terms of the contract. The findings of the study should be available by the end of this summer.

City hall is at 209 N. York St.
