Downers Grove Village Council considers several service contracts at meeting

The Downers Grove Village Council considered contracts totaling over $180,000 to several companies for various products and services during its regular meeting this week.

The consent agenda included motions to authorize contracts to Elmhurst Chicago Stone ($15,450 for ready mix concrete), KLF Enterprises ($37,400 for debris hauling services), K-Five Construction Corp. ($50,000 for hot-mix asphalt materials), Western Gradall Corp. ($39,080 for roadside drainage-ditch reconstruction and maintenance) and Marcott Enterprises ($38,250 for crushed limestone).

The council also considered an ordinance to authorize the village to borrow funds from the Public Water Supply Loan Program of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

The council also considered ordinances to approve the issuance of General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Series 2016, and to restore funding to the local Meals on Wheels program.

The council also considered an ordinance to approve the hiring of a new village bond registrar and paying agent and a resolution to authorize the temporary use of public property for the upcoming 2016 Rotary Club Grove Fest.
