Warrenville Committee of the Whole honors police officers at meeting

The Warrenville Public Safety and Legislative Committee/Committee of the Whole acknowledged several officers for their hard work during its regular meeting Monday.

The meeting opened with comments from Warrenville Police Chief Raymond Turano, who introduced new officers Cassandra McKuras and Carlo Romero. The agenda also included the presentation of a lifesaving award to Officers Alexander Snapp and Lori York, as well as a certificate of recognition to Animal Control Officer Josh Perry.

The meeting continued with a Fiscal Year 2017 overview and a discussion on pending agreements for the use of local facilities as shelters for disaster relief. There also was an update and evaluation on the Traffic Safety Enforcement Unit (TSEU).

The committee also considered bids for residential solid-waste collection services, heard a presentation on police training in the use of excessive force and considered a resolution to support the DuPage Mayors and Managers (DMMC) 2016 Legislative Action Program (LAP).
