A special meeting held will be held Thursday to provide information to the public and receive input on the Southwest District Alternative Land Use Report for Warrenville, Illinois.
The public is invited to attend the special meeting of the City of Warrenville Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11. The meeting will be held at City Hall, 28W701 Stafford Place.
The Southwest District, located at the Route 59 and Route 56 intersection and adjacent to Ferry Rd., is in the planning stages of an long-range land use plan. The consultant, Teska Associates Inc., will provide a presentation of the Southwest District Plant Alternative Land Use Report to the board and members of the public.
The report is the second part of the process of developing a plan for the Southwest District. The Southwest District Assessment Report analyzed the current use of the land, transportation and existing businesses and industry. The land use report presents three potential plans for the area, including residential, business and mixed uses. Among the benefits and challenges considered in each plan are the economic and environmental factors that impact future development.
Following the presentation, the board has allocated 20 minutes for its own questions and discussion. Public comments are also allocated 20 minutes, followed by an open house discussion of the report.
After the presentation and ensuing discussion are complete, the board will hear comments from citizens, and reports from the chairman, community development director, senior planner and mayor.
