Choose DuPage, an organization devoted to promoting DuPage County economic development, recently teamed up with real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle to gain insight on ideal conditions desired by today's workforce.
They developed the DuPage County Workforce Survey to learn about employee wants and needs from the actual workplace environment as well as everything related to work such as traveling to get there and places to eat for lunch.
The survey contains 23 questions and begins by asking general information such as age, education level, the industry that best describes where the survey taker works, their level of employment, the length of time they have been with their current employer, and whether they are a resident of DuPage County and if so for how long.
Other questions go more in depth such as asking survey respondents to rank their level of satisfaction with various components of their work environment including building amenities, nearby places to dine and shop, and transportation options.
They are also asked what they would change about their workplace and what retail options they would like to see more of around the workplace.
