Now in City Council's hands, St. Charles' new Strategic Plan set for liftoff

Stcharles

The City of St. Charles said this week that it has finalized its 2015 Strategic Plan and is ready to enter the action phase.

Soon, local leaders will begin to implement many of the projects identified as action items in the progressive five-year plan.

After numerous interviews and surveys, including input gathered from over 200 local stakeholders and officials, the Strategic Plan was created last fall to help shape and direct the long-term and short-term goals and priorities for the City of St. Charles.

The final draft of the plan was given to the City Council at its Monday meeting. Now the focus turns to an exciting and innovative plan of action to accomplish goals identified in the plan and measure progress and long-term impact.

“We received valuable feedback and appreciate the effort of all who participated in the strategic planning process,” City Administrator Mark Koenen said. “The Strategic Plan serves as our North Star, helping us shape our community’s future and navigate to our future successes.”

The mission of the Strategic Plan is based on four elements: Heritage, Community, Service and Opportunity. With this stated mission, every decision and activity will be viewed through the lens of these four aspects.
