The Elk Grove Board of Trustees will consider a contract to renew the Makers Wanted village marketing campaign during its regular meeting at 7 p.m. today at Village Hall.

The first wave of the campaign, which aims to promote Elk Grove as a prime location for businesses, ran in Chicagoland media between May and October of last year. The new contract, with Red Caffeine Inc. of Lombard, would not exceed $463,760 and would be financed through the Busse/Elmhurst Tax Increment Financing fund. The contract calls for an ad campaign on TV, radio, print media, billboards and on the internet.

The board also will hear requests from Elk Grove Public Library  to waive

$50 in building-permit fees for installation of a wireless fire-alarm-monitoring system and  $225 in engineering permit fees for curb replacement.

The board also will consider an ordinance, as part of a consortium of several other municipalities, to grant a franchise to NICOR Gas to build, operate and maintain a natural gas distribution system in Elk Grove.
