The City of Elmhurst recently launched its Stormwater Management Plan website to keep the community updated on the status of stormwater and sanitation issues, including  improvement projects, throughout Elmhurst.

By visiting www.elmhurststormwaterplan.org, residents can locate information on all things related to stormwater issues in the city, including communication and education meetings, news, research findings, reports from engineers and mitigation diagrams. The website also will keep the community updated on the status of stormwater-management projects, following them from conceptual stages all the way to completion.

“Keeping residents informed with the city’s stormwater-management efforts was the key reason this site was created,” Elmhurst Mayor Steve Morley said. “Our goal is to share information with the community on all past, present and future projects relative to stormwater mitigation.”

The website also will feature a blog to which residents can subscribe for updates on specific projects they want to follow, as well as immediate access to a vast menu of policies and resources.

“Stormwater-management projects have been the focus of many city staff members, with the overarching goal of alleviating stormwater issues and providing tools to residents in need,” Elmhurst City Manager Jim Grabowski said. “The new site will easily connect residents with the proper tools available to them from the city.”
