The Village of Carol Stream recently held a special meeting of the Fire and Police Commissioners Board.
The purpose of the meeting was to accept the retirement of Sgt. Diane Wells and to discuss candidates for a replacement to fill the opening created by her departure, as well as to interview candidates for a police officer position.
Following the vote to approve Wells' retirement request, the board went into executive session to review the resumes and other background data on the three candidates on the Sergeant Eligibility List to fill the vacancy. Donald Cummings was selected as the most qualified candidate, and a motion was approved to offer him a promotion to sergeant, upon Wells' retirement being finalized.
After several other discussions and interviews of candidates for a police officer position, the meeting was adjourned.
