Construction continues on Elk Grove Village's Love Street water-main replacement.
To complete the project in the most time-efficient manner and to maximize daylight, village officials have authorized the contractor to start work on the project at 6 a.m. daily and to work Saturdays.
Love Street traffic will remain restricted throughout the duration of the project. During construction, in the Bianco Drive area, it is recommended that motorists access Love Street via Laurel Street. The concurrent paving work at the intersection of Love Street and Verde Drive was expected to be completed by the end of the day on Friday.
The next anticipated water shut-off will be in about two weeks, when individual residential services are switched over to the new water main. At that time, all residents south of 756/757 Love Street will become connected to the new water main.
Due to construction operations, officials are urging residents to place their leaves for the Fall Leaf Collection Program on the parkway itself and not in the street. Public Works crews will remove leaves from the parkway for the last time this year on Nov. 25.
Residents with questions or concerns regarding the village’s construction projects may call the Public Works office at 847-734-8800. Construction updates are also provided on the Elk Grove Village website: www.elkgrove.com/government/village-departments/public-works/construction-update.
