The city of Warrenville said Oct. 1 that an informational website has been set up for information and updates on the Southwest District planning project.
The Southwest District planning area includes properties near the Routes 59 and 56 intersection.
The website provides information about the planning area and planning process, project updates and various related documents and allows users to take a survey and sign up for electronic updates.
The 2015 Economic Development Plan identifies the development and adoption of a new comprehensive, subarea and corridor land use plan as one of the top priority implementation actions.
The outdated 1984 comprehensive plan, along with various physical, infrastructure, ownership and market constraints, continue to limit potential new tax generating development along the Route 59 corridor.
A current plan will allow the city to provide clear direction to developers and facilitate development that is realistic from a market standpoint and fiscally responsible from an economic development and public service perspective.
