The 2015 West Chicago Sidewalk Maintenance Program is scheduled to begin the week of Oct. 19, and construction is expected to be completed by Nov. 13.
The sidewalk program involves the removal and replacement of deficient sidewalks at various locations throughout the city as well as some roadway curb and gutter repair. After sidewalk replacement, barriers will be placed on both ends of the sidewalk to prevent residents from utilizing the sidewalk.
The scheduled work will neither address all sidewalk deficiencies in the neighborhood nor deficiencies with the curb and gutter. Rather, replacements will concentrate on the worst sidewalk trip hazards centered around public facilities.
Construction work for the sidewalk program will take place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
